#SpeedClean

I don’t know how many of you follow my personal twitter, but those of you who do may have noticed the #speedclean tag in a lot of my morning posts.  You either wondered what it was or like my friend Sarena, you figured out what it was referring to; you boo and hissed, and then called your cleaning lady. I don’t have a cleaning lady, so I #speedclean.

Four mornings a week I join Madame Wing, Kelleigh Ratzlaff, Pamela Donnis and some other wonderful ladies in a #speedclean. Kelleigh does a fantastic job explaining what it is on her blog, so I won’t go into all the hairy details here. But basically starting at 7 AM Pacific or 9 AM Pacific, someone on Twitter posts their morning cleaning plan and the rest of us follow.

I have been doing to for three weeks now and my house has NEVER looked better. I don’t know about you, but I would rather design or scrap than house clean. So for the longest time, I did just that. My two and a half year old began to associate mommy cleaning the house with Grandma (my MIL) coming over. My house was never filthy, but clutter tended to take over and it was never company ready. But now that I speed clean 4 mornings a week roughly) I can design and scrap without guilt because my house is clean and my laundry is done! It’s wonderful. Plus, my son is learning good habits and helps me every morning. and while #speedclean is not a miracle, it has helped me to develop better habits in other areas  as well. Like starting dinner at 5 instead of another scrap page, and making time to go outside and play with my son more.  My hubby is a lot happier and my house is company ready most of the time. What could be better than that? So if you have time tomorrow morning, join us!

Yay! You blogged about it! I hope we start getting tons more people!! My house is looking way better too and I’m not feeling nearly as guilty about getting on the computer or doing other stuff when the house looks decent!

Hey, would you mind linking up my felties so people know where they can find them? Thanks a million!

[...] On semi-related note, Digital Designer Graham Like the Cracker blogged about this new speedclean movement she and a few other designers are a part of. I have checked it out, and I would be so in if I wasn’t at work all day! You can check it out HERE. [...]
