How do you save your digifiles? How do you name them? Do you ever delete your layered files?
I am extremely “detail oriented”. I have almost always named my files like so. 100619 Birthday Boy
I scrap out of order… and I want to be able to put my prints in order as soon as they are in fact printed. So what I do is name the file by the date the picture(s) was/were taken. I put the year first so that all of my photos from 2010 are together, and all of my photos from 2007 are together and so on and so forth. Then the rest of the date and the title of my layout. That last part makes it REALLY easy when I am uploading my pictures to galleries.
The next time I ordered prints from Persnickety Prints, I am going to check and see if they have the option to print the file names on the back of the layout, because that would be REALLY handy if I haven’t dated my layouts.
Now as far as file managment goes, I am a hoarder. I still have all of my PSD files. I keep a 300 dpi PSD file, the 300 dpi 12×12 file, and the websized preview. But after I have finished uploading it everywhere, I add the web sized preview to my screen saver folder so I can see my layouts when my screen saver comes on. I recently discovered TIF files and I now save my layouts in TIF, which is like a PSD in that it’s layered, but a smaller file. If I am REALLY bored sometime, I might go and convert my old PSDs for TIFs, but I don’t see it happening any time soon. I’d rather scrap. LOL
How do you manage your stuff? I would love to hear how you manage your layout files.

Happy Birthday ScrapMatters!!!! ScrapMatters is turning three this weekend, so to celebrate, the store is on sale! (Excluding Sweet Deals)
Since I started digital scrapbooking, making two page spreads had fallen by the way side. I was quite happy to make single page layouts. Since I wasn’t printing them, it didn’t really matter. But now I am addicted to printing my layouts at Persnickity Prints… and I am a detail oriented person. So when I started putting my beautifully printed layouts in my scrapbooks, it bothered me when the pages that faced each other did not match or have some sort of flow to them. But I did not want to go back and make a twin for every layout I had ever done. I knew there were certain pages that I had more pictures for, and they were pictures that I would love to see on a large scale, and not clustered on a page.
The layout on the left was made a year ago… and this layout on the right has one of my favorite wedding pictures; it NEEDED to be shown off!

(This kit is Hopeless Romantic by Stolen Moments and Sya’s Blueprints)
And now to help you complete two page spreads of your own, I present my template grab bag!
Do you want to complete a two page spread with a particularly meaningful picture?
Do you have a story to tell and want to put in more than one picture across more than one page?
Or do you love the look of white space, and want a white space spread?
This is the template grab bag for you!
It Contains, 3 Sets of 4 Page template sets (12 template)
2 Sets of Facing Pages
1 Set of Completer Pages
The Complete Me (completer pages) set are a great way to quickly finish a two page spread if you already have an existing layout. These templates focus on a single large photo, perfect for highlighting those really special photos.
Facing Me are two page spreads with 3 or more photos on one page. There is room on each spread for a title and a large journaling section.
Facing Me White Space are two page spreads with a lot of white space. These also contain a text path title on one page and a text page journaling line on another to allow your text to follow the paper curves. (Text paths are only in the PSD files)
These templates can be used as a set or as indivual pages to suit your scrapping fancy.
The downloads contain PSD files, TIF files, and pngs for non-photoshop users.
This grab bag is $3 for this week only! Then it will broken up and sold as invidual template sets.
I went a little nuts over these templates. I made 6 layouts in two days which is a record for me.
If you would like to see what the CT and I did, here’s the slide show!

Happy Scrapping!

When I started designing, I SWORE up and down that I was going to be a boy kit designer. And I was; for about three kits. Then I discovered how fun flowers and curling ribbons were since I am in fact, a girl.
I have tried not to get completely swept away by designing and I try REALLY hard to scrap as often as possible. Even if it makes me feel guilty. But, every time I scrap I am reminded, “Wow. There SO aren’t as many cute kits for boys as there are for girls.” One of my favorite layouts I have ever done was with a Bella Gypsy collab, “boy kit” called Tomfoolery.
So I was THRILLED when I heard back from Lena (Bella Gypsy are two sisters, Lena and Tabatha) and she told me that they would love to collab with me. Lena put together what I think is a FANTASTIC palette and I am excited to show you our “boy kit”, Love That Boy.
Are you crazy about a boy? It could be your son, your hubby, boyfriend or father…every gal has some guy in her life whom she loves. Bella Gypsy & Jen Graham have teamed up to create a huge, versatile, masculine collection that you’ll find yourself reaching for over and over as you scrap those meaningful boyish moments in your life.
A boy kit would not be complete without some distressed papers.
These rough and tumble papers will provide contrast and visual interest on your pages. You will receive 8 papers in .png format.
There is also some word art…
There are nine word art in the pack, and then a couple more that are variations of the original nine.
and then finally we have a bundle.
The bundle and all of it’s pieces are 25% off through Thursday, so get this fantastic boy kit while it’s still on sale!
My CT really loved this kit. A few of them even made multiple pages. Here are few.

If you get the ScrapMatters Monthly newsletter, you might already have this… but when I started selling there I was interviewed for their monthly newsletter and I included my recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookies.
I used the Plum Dumpling kit, Family Fun for this layout.
The cream paper background is from the Jen Graham and Jennifer Barrette kit, Making Waves.
You can download the .png file of this cookie recipe here. It prints out 8.5×11. There is no background in this file so you save ink.
Oh and seriously, just double the recipe. You will be glad you did.
Hello! I hope you are having a wonderful week. Life has been super busy around here. Alton LOVES school. Those three hours he is gone go by so fast, but oh my word is it quiet around here with him gone!
This week I have a collab with a wonderful designer. Whenever I see one of Jenn Barrette’s kits the first thing I notice is how beautiful it is, and the next thing I notice is how exquisite her palette is. I LOVED working with her and I hope you love our kit.

Whether it’s pool water gently lapping against cool tile or the sea bubbling against your toes, this is the kit for your water photos. With a little bit of mod, a little bit of cottage shabby chic, a mix of paper and realistic elements, Making Waves will showcase your favorite photos in a a variety of ways.
Full kit contains:
25 papers (15 patterned, 10 solid)
64 elements (including some variations)
full alpha (uppercase and lowercase)
No kit is complete without some worn or torn papers. This collection has both.
Some are worn, some are torn, but they all coordinate with the Making Waves collection. These beautiful papers will provide contrast and visual interest on your pages.
and of course there is a Sweet Deal
Jenn Barrette has created some adorable word art and word strips, as well as a worn and wooded alpha. You can get all the pieces of this collection for $10. Want an even better deal than that? Through this weekend only, you can get the bundle for $7… the full price of the kit.
My CT and the ScrapMatters store CT did BEAUTIFUL work with this kit.
I actually scrapped this week, so I would love to show you mine.

Remember (carry my heart)? My wedding kit with Stolen Moments? We are releasing a set of cluster frames and to celebrate, the entire collection is on sale through Monday!
